Storyling #3 – Martellus Bennett making plays

With Rob Gronkowski not participating in Patriots OTAs, Bennett has stood out among the Patriots’ tight ends. Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald tweeted this out after another big afternoon of practice from Bennett:

My co-editor, Cyrus Geller, commented on Bennett’s strong play several days ago:

"Obviously this is just OTA’s, so we can’t put too much stock into these practices, but I really can’t wait to see Bennett and Rob Gronkowski on the same offense this year. We know how dominant Gronk is, but Bennett is just as big, and he is very athletic to boot. Teams can double team one of them, but not both, and the results should be explosive, specifically in the red zone."

As Cyrus says, we need to take Bennett’s impressive play with a grain of salts seeing as how it’s only May, but it’s hard not to get excited about the 6-foot-6 tight end.
