The NFL offseason is in full swing, as the draft is over, free agency has died down, and training camp is months away. To pass the time, I’m going to rank the top 10 players on this 2016 New England Patriots squad.

This list isn’t the 10 most important players on the Pats, it is going to purely be the 10 best/most talented players on the roster.

Let’s get it going.

10. LT Nate Solder

Solder takes a lot of crap from Pats fans, but when you get down to it, he is one of the better tackles in the NFL. The Patriots were ravaged by injuries last season, as star players went down all year long. However when it was all said and done, it wasn’t Dion Lewis or Julian Edelman that turned out to be the biggest injury, it was Solder. Protecting Tom Brady is priority number one for this team, and Solder is one of the best in that department.

Obviously, Solder has had his bad moments over the course of his career (2014 vs. San Diego comes to mind), but overall he is a very good tackle, and the 10th best player on this Patriots roster.

9. CB Logan Ryan

Ryan really made a huge jump last season as the number two corner behind Malcolm Butler. Ryan isn’t the fastest dude in the world, but he is physical, has excellent ball skills and his technique was tremendous as he became Revis-like with how sound he was in coverage.

His coming out party last year was in week 14 at Houston, where he absolutely dominated DeAndre Hopkins, who is a top-5 receiver in the NFL. Aside from a fluky 40-yard-reception, Hopkins had two catches for 12 yards in that game, as Ryan completely shut him down.
