3. Jonathan Jones

What you have to understand about Jones is that he is one of the fastest prospects in the 2016 rookie class. He ripped off a 4.33-second 40-yard dash at the combine, better than all but two participants.

The other thing that you must know about Jones: he received $35,000 of guaranteed money from the Patriots upon signing after the draft, the most among the Patriots’ undrafted rookies.

So there are two items working in Jones’ favor going forward. Speed and investment. Those two factors separate Jones from fellow undrafted cornerbacks Bentley and LeBlanc.

Jones’ route to the final roster, not surprisingly, involves displaying his worth on special teams. He could follow in the steps of former Auburn teammate Brandon King, and undrafted rookie last season who began the season on the practice squad before replacing Bradley Fletcher on the active roster in early October.

There you have it: as of right now, Jones has a better chance of being this year’s Butler story than Bentley and LeBlanc.
