1. Some new jersey numbers

According to the updated team roster, the Patriots have doled out jersey numbers to a handful of those rookies.

Cyrus Jones’ complete college highlights

Jones assumed No. 24, a shirt worn by a long line of great Patriots’ cornerbacks. Ty Law, Kyle Arrington and Darrelle Revis have donned the No. 24 jersey. Jones is aware of the connotations of his uniform, as indicated by these remarks he made yesterday:

"Guys like Ty Law and Darrelle Revis are great defensive backs and great players, two of the greatest players to ever set foot in the National Football League. There’s definitely a legacy behind the number, and I want to make my own legacy with the number.”"

Robert Kraft chimed in:

"Cyrus will be wearing a special number to our family. There’s a lot of good karma that goes with that number."

In addition, fourth round pick Malcolm Mitchell snagged No. 19, Joe Thuney got No. 62 and Vincent Valentine ended up with No. 99. Valentine gets 99, that rhymes.
