No. 20 – New York Jets

Jets reporter Rich Cimini pegs Paxton Lynch at this juncture of the first round, passing on taking the best cornerback available.

"The Jets also could pick a cornerback in this spot — William Jackson III is a possibility — but they succumb to the temptation of finding a quarterback of the future. Lynch won’t help them in 2016. Presumably, he’d sit behind Ryan Fitzpatrick for at least a year, assuming the unsigned Fitzpatrick returns. It’s a gamble for a team with an older roster whose window is closing."

Building on that train of thought, Anthony Russo of The Jet Press lists five quarterbacks that may drawn the attention of Gang Green at No. 20.

After the mostly-failed Geno Smith experiment, it will take a lot for the Jets to avoid solidifying their front seven in the first round and instead take a “quarterback of the future”, perhaps the most abused term you will hear in the football press at this time of year.

2016 NFL Draft: 6 CBs Patriots should consider

A divisional opponent that always gives the Patriots headaches, the Jets would present a greater threat to the Patriots by adding on to an already elite front seven. That would make Week 12 and Week 16 that much tougher for the Pats.
