The New England Patriots finally addressed the offensive side of the football at pick #111 overall and just like in 2014 when they grabbed center Bryan Stork, they went back to Florida State to draft Tre Jackson. Jackson is a six-foot-four and 330 pound guard who is big and strong but lacks the ideal mobility the Patriots prefer of their interior offensive linemen.

Jackson stepped in at right guard early in the season and he played over 50% of the offensive snaps for the season. He struggled with a knee injury much of the second half of the season and did not contribute much down the stretch. He will have fellow 2015 NFL Draft pick and second year guard Shaq Mason to compete with in training camp along with Josh Kline and Jonathan Cooper. How much the knee injury affected Jackson and how he responds to offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia’s coaching will determine if Jackson can be a starter in 2016.
