Geneo Grissom was considered a reach by the NFL Draft analysts when the Patriots took the Oklahoma defensive end in the third round. Grissom is a six-foot-three and 253 pounds 4-3 defensive end who has many traits similar to current defensive end Rob Ninkovich. With his long arms and athleticism, the “tweener” may be in the right defense for his skill set.

Like Ninkovich, Grissom first had to prove his value on special teams. Grissom got the blame for blocked punt fiasco against Philadelphia but continued to be a strong special teams contributor throughout the season. He only played in just over 10% of the defensive snaps and but with Ninkovich nearing the end of the road soon, his role will likely be filled by Grissom in the near future.
