1. The Third Round

Although the Patriots have to wait until the No. 60 overall pick to get on the clock, they will be rewarded for their patience in the third round with the No. 91 and No. 95 overall selections.

This means that despite not having a voice in the first 59 episodes of the 2016 NFL Draft, the Patriots still have three selections in the top 100. That’s about average, considering there are 32 teams in the NFL (32 multiplied by three gives you 96, roughly 100). So the Patriots aren’t at a major disadvantage in the 2016 NFL Draft.

2016 NFL Draft: 6 WRs Patriots should mull over

That these two third round picks are in such close proximity to each other gives the Patriots added flexibility on Day 2. It should be remembered that the talent pool may be dwindling by the third round, but there are definitely some gems to be found in that part of the draft. Just look at 2015 draft picks David Johnson, Ty Montgomery, Tyler Lockett and Jaelen Strong.

As you can see, there are plenty of reasons why Patriots fans should be anticipating the 2016 NFL Draft.
