4. Wide receiver

Here is the Patriots’ current (unofficial) wide receiver depth chart, which we reordered after the signing of Nate Washington last month.

1. Julian Edelman

2. Danny Amendola

3. Keshawn Martin

4. Chris Hogan

5. Nate Washington

6. Aaron Dobson

7. Chris Harper

8. DeAndre Carter

The Patriots have done of nice job of adding depth at wideout with the additions of Washington and Hogan over the offseason. However, until Dobson proves he can (1) stay healthy and (2) produce consistently, the Patriots will have a need for a larger target at wide receiver. Dobson is the only player out of this group who stands above 6-foot-1 (the height of both Hogan and Washington).

MUST-READ: Gronk hanging out with Tom Brady

While it is true that the Patriots will thwart two-tight end sets consisting of mammoth 6-foot-6 targets Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett in 2016, it certainly wouldn’t hurt to have a perimeter target who can go up and contend for a jump ball. A deep threat with height is something the Patriots have lacked since Randy Moss, and that was a long time ago.

Target: Keyarris Garrett
