Rob Gronkowski retires to pursue dancing career
It appears that New England Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski is turning a new leaf. No longer will he be catching footballs on Sundays. Instead, you’ll see Gronk at a different nightclub every Saturday night tearing up the dancefloor.

Thankfully, the Patriots signed Martellus Bennett and Clay Harbor this offseason, so the tight end position isn’t destroyed. Certainly, we’ll miss seeing Gronk spikes in the end zone, but at least we’ll be able to see him bust out dance moves around the Boston area every weekend.
"“I would like to thank the Kraft family, my teammates and everyone in the Patriots organization for six unforgettable seasons. But I have found a new calling, and I can’t pass up this opportunity. #GronkSpikeOnDancefloor – @RobGronkowski”"
Shortly after breaking the news, Gronk received support from Julian Edelman.
"“I’ll miss ya @RobGronkowski, but I always knew this day would come. Honestly, he’s making me wonder if I should ditch football for full-time modeling – @Edelman11”"
Devin McCourty also chimed in:
"“This comes as no surprise… football has been standing in the way of Gronk’s dream for a long time. I wish him the very best. (D-Mac) – @McCourtyTwins”"
Here’s some footage of Gronk dancing during his party cruise this offseason. Get used to seeing more of this as Gronk sets aside football and concentrates fully on the art form.
Through six NFL seasons, Gronk has caught 380 passes for 5,555 yards and 65 touchdowns. He’s posted double-digit touchdowns in all but one season, his injury-ravaged 2013 campaign.
Gronk will certainly be missed in New England and the 2016 season looks like a dull one without No. 87 on the field. To get our fill of Gronk entertainment, we’ll have to keep an eye on his social media channels for a glimpse into his new career path.
