The Patriots have room for improvement at the strong safety position. They’re all set with Patrick Chung starting, but the depth leaves something to be desired, at least until we get a better idea of the type of player Jordan Richards is. In the wake of Tavon Wilson’s departure to the Detroit Lions in free agency, a roster spot is open.

However, veteran Moore is not the answer. The Patriots would be better off avoiding the free agent market to add strong safety depth and instead let a team like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pursue Moore.

The Patriots seemingly draft an obscure safety too early in the draft every year anyway, so have no fear, depth will be added behind Chung and Richards in the near future.
