4. Greg Toler

Look, this writer is as big a proponent of gathering lanky cornerbacks as anyone. In fact, the Patriots could use more size at the cornerback position, as they don’t have a single defensive back over 6-foot. But despite his height and long reach, Toler wouldn’t make sense in New England.

After three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals and three with the Colts, Toler has amassed eight interceptions, although none of those came in 2015. Interception totals can be deceiving at times, but it’s never good when a 16-game starter throws up a fat zero in that category, which partially explains why Toler isn’t garnering much interest on the free agent market.

This writer is all for the Patriots signing another corner (like Brandon Boykin or Jerraud Powers), but Toler is not the guy.
