5. Antonio Cromartie

About a month ago, this writer pondered the possibility of the Patriots pursuing the newly-released member of the New York Jets:

"Yes, Cromartie is on the downswing of his career. And yes, Cromartie had a pretty forgettable 2015 season. But the Patriots could use the services of a physical, 6-foot-2 cornerback, at least as competition in training camp. The Patriots always like to participate in offseason gamesmanship with the Jets, plucking a player from their roster here and there. It would be entirely characteristic of Bill Belichick to toy with the Jets a bit by signing one of their most vocal defensive leaders."

At the very least, Cromartie could be brought in on a league minimum one-year deal. Worst case scenario, the Pats could cut him in training camp if need be.
