The first wave of free agency has come and gone, and there is a bit of a lull in New England Patriots news.

Just kidding, there is never a quiet moment for the Patriots. Here are four nuggets of Patriots news you may have missed yesterday:

4. Chris Long pondering his jersey number options

Long took to Twitter to engage fans about what jersey number he should take in New England. Considering that Long’s No. 91 is under the ownership of Jamie Collins, the defensive end will have a new number for the first time in his career.

Apparently, Long has asked for Chandler Jones’ permission to wear his old No. 95.

When asked about wearing his dad’s old No. 75, which of course used to be worn by Vince Wilfork, Long replied with this:

Regardless of the number Long decides on, the Patriots are fortunate to have him on their roster. The pass rush won’t miss a beat after the Jones trade.
