Trading for Cooper was one of the niftiest moves the Patriots have pulled off in recent memory. At this point, it’s not clear if Cooper will start at guard with sophomore pros Shaq Mason and Tre’ Jackson in the mix, but one thing is for sure: he will be a very impactful player for the Pats in 2016.

It’s generally known that Patriots’ offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia is keen on Cooper because of his quick feet. Cooper isn’t going to destroy anyone with physicality alone, but he is nimble on his feet, and Scarnecchia likes that.

Even if Cooper doesn’t start right away, he is a great backup option. Considering how often Patriots’ offensive linemen got injured in 2015, it will be handy having a capable starter like Cooper on hand.
