Patriots’ head coach Bill Belichick must have been influenced by Drake’s “Back to Back“.

After trading away Chandler Jones to the Arizona Cardinals to acquire Jonathan Cooper and a second round pick in the 2015 draft, the New England Patriots made a ANOTHER big move Wednesday evening.

You read right football fans. The Chicago Bears traded Tight End Marcellus Bennett  and a sixth round pick to the Patriots for a fourth round pick.

With the move, the Patriots will not only be able to properly crack open the part of the playbook were 12 personnel (two-tight end formations) are heavily involved, but they also have another great receiving option outside of TE Rob Gronkowski and WR Julian Edelman.

After the Scott Chandler experiment failed, the Patriots were in desperate need of another tight end, especially for depth purposes. Since Aaron Hernandez was arrested and released before the 2013 season, the Patriots have since been searching for a replacement that would fit their offense.

The team brought in players such as DJ Williams, Justin Jones, Asa Watson, and Tim Wright. Wright was the only player that was able to make an impact in the offense during the 2014 season, but soon fazed out in the playoffs based due to matchup based gameplans.

Before the trade, behind Gronkowski was Michael Williams and AJ Derby, who was on IR last season. Bennett will now be a great compliment along side Gronk and adding him to the group not only makes the Patriots’ offense stronger, but should make them far more difficult to defend, granted they all stay healthy.

He finished the 2015 season with his lowest numbers since 2011 (53 RECs, 439 YDs, 3 TDs), but with a quarterback like Tom Brady throwing to him, it’s likely those numbers will go up.

Well Patriots’ fans, you can finally stop complaining and saying that “Bill Belichick doesn’t make big moves”.

Because this one is a big one.
