1. James Ihedigbo

Now that Tavon Wilson has left for the Detroit Lions, there is room on the depth chart for the Patriots to add an extra strong safety. Maybe that man will be a familiar face: 2011 standout Ihedigbo, who we ranked as No. 16 target in free agency:

"Ihedigbo only spent one season with the Patriots, but he left enough of an impression on this writer to wish the Patriots would bring him back. The Lions have officially severed ties with the veteran safety, so the opportunity is there to make this fantasy a reality. A native of Northampton, MA and graduate of UMass (this writer’s stomping grounds), Ihedigbo should ride out the rest of his career in New England. When he played for the Pats in 2011, Ihedigbo was one of the pump-up guys on the roster, leading the team out of the tunnel right next to Brady. It’d be great to have that kind of energy back in the locker room."

Energy, veteran leadership and experience with the Patriots’ way of doing things are all draws here.
