3. Demario Davis

Yes, the Patriots signed a linebacker yesterday, but Humber is better as a special teams player, not on settled defense. The Patriots still have a gaping hole at linebacker behind superstars Jamie Collins and Dont’a Hightower that needs filling. Davis has appeared on our list of eight possible AFC East free agents as well as our top 22 Patriots free agency targets, where he was ranked No. 22:

"Davis put forth another solid season in 2015, accumulating 89 tackles and two sacks. It should be noted that Davis is very durable having never missed a regular season games in four NFL seasons. You have to respect the defensive prowess of the Jets, and if the Patriots were able to nab one of that unit’s more vibrant pieces, it would be huge."

According to New York Daily News Jets beat writer Seth Walder, Davis is getting attention from a handful of teams.

Hopefully, the Patriots are one of them.
