Matt Forte has signed with the New York Jets, Chris Ivory with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Lamar Miller with the Houston Texans. With those stars off the board, Anderson presents himself as arguably the most desirable free agent running back, and the Patriots are currently chasing him, as Cyrus Geller detailed this morning:

"I think this would be a great pickup for the Pats because they need a guy that can pound the ball between the tackles on first and second down. However I don’t think it is that likely they will land him. I just feel like the price will be driven up too high for Belichick and company."

Right, if the price tag reaches a certain point, the Patriots will scrap the thought of signing Anderson. But it is certainly tempting.

Anderson may be very interested in joining the Patriots. He certainly has a ton of respect for Brady, as evidenced by this Instagram post following the AFC Championship.

One of the hardest workers in the league, Anderson would immediately boost the Patriots’ poor ground game.
