Day 1 of New England Patriots free agency is in the books, and as usual, the Patriots were very quiet. Besides signing linebacker Ramon Humber, the Patriots didn’t make any noise. They lost out on a bidding war for Marvin Jones, and then saw Mohamed Sanu and Rishard Matthews sign elsewhere. But championships aren’t won on the first day of free agency, so it’s fine the Pats were quiet.

Here are six players the Patriots should seriously think about signing (at the right price, of course) on the second day of free agency:

6. Anquan Boldin

The Patriots are still on the hunt for a wide receiver to take Brandon LaFell’s place in the aerial attack.

At age 35, Boldin would certainly come at a lower price than the market has dictated for the handful of wideouts the Patriots were initially targeting (Jones, Sanu, Matthews and Travis Benjamin). Plus, the Patriots have shown interest in Boldin before.

A wily veteran who still has gas left in the tank for at least another year or two, Boldin would deepen the Patriots’ receiving corps and provide an experienced pass catching option for Tom Brady.
