This is not an understatement: LaFell was literally the lone bright spot in the Patriots’ 41-14 Monday Night Football embarrassment against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Late in the game, when most of the Patriots were dogging it, eager for the final whistle to come and end the pain, LaFell kept grinding. He caught a 44-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady in the second half, giving the Patriots their first points on the board and retaining the team’s sense of pride, at least somewhat.

On the night, LaFell produced a stat line of six catches for 119 yards and that touchdown, LaFell’s first touchdown as a Patriot since coming over in free agency from the Carolina panthers.

LaFell deserves credit for working so hard and producing results in an otherwise lousy and forgettable night for the Patriots.
