Tom Brady agrees to contract extension with Patriots

Jim McBride-Boston Globe

"Tom Brady has long expressed an interest in playing into his 40s. Not that there was much doubt, but it’s now official that the Patriots are on board with that line of thinking.A team source Monday confirmed Brady and the Patriots have agreed on a two-year contract extension that will keep the perennial Pro Bowl quarterback in Foxborough through 2019, when he will be 42.While financial details of the deal aren’t known, Brady had two years remaining on a pact that would pay him $9 million in 2016 and $10 million in 2017."

6 Free Agent Linebacker Targets for the New England Patriots

Rich Hill-Pats Pulpit

"The retirement of veteran linebacker Jerod Mayo has left a vacancy in the New England Patriots depth chart for a possible free agency fit.On one hand, the team seemed find to use Jonathan Freeny as the 3rd linebacker, which would point to the team possibly wanting a younger linebacker to reduce Freeny’s special teams snaps. On the other, Freeny wasn’t very good, so maybe the Patriots would be happy finding a quality veteran to make sure Freeny remains on special teams. There are a few options around the league that could fit. Here’s a short list."

ICYMI: Rob Gronkowski and Richard Sherman are Bros

Erik Scalavino-Patriots.com

"What happens when you put two Pro Bowl icons in a commercial together? Some pretty good outtakes. Back on shore from his Party Cruise, Rob Gronkowski took some time out of his offseason to film a commercial with Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman. ESPN.com caught some behind-the-scenes action of filming for the Oberto beef jerky commercial. The two spent the time riding tandem bikes, making Etch A Sketches and snacking on jerky while hanging out in Snuggies."
