1. Los Angeles Rams

It’s easy to think of reasons not to make a gutsy trade. But if you’re the Rams right now, this is as good a time as any to make an aggressive trade for a potential franchise quarterback. A new year, a new city… why not a new quarterback?

What makes the Rams a possible trading partner for the Patriots is their No. 45 overall selection in the 2016 NFL Draft. That is probably the best the Patriots could get in return for Garoppolo, although they may have to throw in one of their later picks in the draft to close the deal.

As for Garoppolo, becoming the starting quarterback in the NFL’s now-second largest market would certainly be a spring up the league’s power ladder. He would have the opportunity of a lifetime to transform a snakebitten franchise into a contender, plus he would become at least a B-list celebrity as the starting quarterback of Los Angeles’ football team.

So there you have it. The Browns, 49ers, Texans and Rams come to mind as the most likely trade destinations for Garoppolo.
