2. Houston Texans

The Texans come to mind as a top candidate for being interested in Garoppolo for two reasons.

One, they have a need at starting quarterback with uncertainty surrounding Brian Hoyer and Tom Savage.

Two, the Texans are quickly becoming a satellite Patriots organization, as evidenced by the sheer abundance of former Patriots on their roster. From quarterback (Hoyer, Ryan Mallet) to nose tackle (Vince Wilfork) to linebackers coach (Mike Vrabel) and of course quarterback (Bill O’Brien), the Texans clearly try to emulate the Patriots.

As noted by NESN.com’s Doug Kyed last week, the Texans are prime candidates for Garoppolo:

"The Houston Texans should be considered the top option. They were tied to Garoppolo before the 2014 draft, and they have a clear need at the position."

This would almost be too fitting. The Texans might as well add silver to their color scheme while they’re at it, and then they really will be a duplicate Patriots team.
