2. Will Tye (24)

At 260 pounds with impressive catching ability, Tye should draw the interest of Bill Belichick because of his versatility.

After going undrafted last spring, Tye caught-on with the Giants and produced well, snagging 42 passes for 464 yards and three touchdowns. As the season wore on, Tye’s importance in the Giants’ passing attack grew considerably, as evidenced by his three touchdown catches in the last four games of the year.

Tye also brings good run blocking skills to the table. The Stony Brook product is a bruiser.

Tye isn’t going to blow the top off of defenses, but putting him next to Rob Gronkowski in two-tight end sets is an intriguing thought. He could replace blocking specialist Michael Williams if the Patriots think Tye is a sufficient enough blocker, as Williams offers next to nothing in the passing game.

Because Tye is an exclusive rights free agent, the Giants have until the league-imposed deadline to re-sign him; after that, Tye will hit the open market and the Patriots should think about nabbing him.
