Free safeties

  1. Reggie Nelson
  2. Eric Berry

Honorable mention: Tashaun Gipson

Strong safeties

  1. George Iloka
  2. Tony Jefferson

Honorable mention: Tyvon Branch

This is a truly outstanding group. It seemed like every week in 2015 Nelson was picking off a pass; he should command top-dollar on the open market if the Bengals let him slip through their grasp. As for Berry, he jumped up 10 points in Madden NFL 16 rankings to 94 overall; only Tyrann Mathieu improved more.

Nelson’s partner at safety, Iloka is an intriguing player in his own right. At 6-foot-4, he’s a big body who can also play cornerback. At just 25 years of age, Iloka is at a crossroads in his career, one which should pad his wallet quite a bit. In his third NFL season, Jefferson had a career year, recording a pair of sacks, three forced fumbles, five passes defended, two picks and a touchdown.

Gipson gets the honorable mention nod because of his ball-hawking skills, and Branch has a few solid years left in him.
