Wide receivers

  1. Alshon Jeffery
  2. Mohamed Sanu
  3. Rishard Matthews
  4. Marvin Jones
  5. Travis Benjamin

Jeffery is in a league of his own in this group, although his injury-riddled career does bring a few red flags to the conversation. But it’s hard not to look at his combined output in the 2013 and 2014 seasons (174 receptions, 2,554 yards, 17 touchdowns) and not be tempted, which is why Jeffery made an appearance on our list of dream targets for the Patriots.

Cincinnati Bengals wideouts Sanu and Jones also make the 2016 NFL free agency all-star team, and you can bet that both guys wouldn’t mind escaping from under the shadow of A.J. Green and establishing themselves in a new NFL city this offseason. Who knows, maybe New England awaits one of those guys.

Another player from the AFC East the Patriots should consider is Matthews, who put forth career numbers (43 receptions, 662 yards, 15.4 yards per catch, four touchdowns) in all categories in 2015.

Rounding out the group is Cleveland Browns speedster Benjamin, who was just 34 yards away from the 1,000-yard mark last season.
