As the next installment in our Yes/No series detailing the New England Patriots’ free agency, this morning we are deciding whether or not the Patriots should re-sign restricted free agent wide receiver Brian Tyms.

The answer: YES

Although he has just seven career receptions to his name—the last one coming in the 2014 season—Tyms is someone the Patriots should bring back in 2016. At 6-foot-3 with good speed and Randy Moss tendencies on the perimeter, Tyms is too good and can be had a too good of a price for the Patriots to not re-sign.

It looks like Brian Tyms is out for the year

A foot injury suffered in training camp last summer prematurely ended Tyms’ 2015 campaign. It was a real shame, too, because Tyms had been turning heads throughout the month of August. Tyms is unlike any other receiver on the Patriots’ roster, and that’s a good thing.

5 players Patriots should target in 2016 NFL Draft

Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola and Brandon LaFell are pretty much the only locks at wideout to return in 2016, although one could argue that the even the futures of Amendola and LaFell are a bit in doubt. There is room on this team for Tyms in 2016; expect the Patriots to hand him an incentive-laden contract to retain the former Cleveland Browns pass catcher
