1. The game is meaningless

Last but certainly not least is the fact that the Pro Bowl is completely and utterly meaningless. It just doesn’t matter, at all.

Major League Baseball actually provides their All-Stars an incentive to try hard in their Pro Bowl equivalent. Home field advantage in the World Series gives a baseball team a definite leg-up on their opponent, especially in the October chill.

The NFL is fresh out of motivating factors in this game. But motivation is in full abundance in a league office that is too preoccupied with chasing television revenue to realize how much of a farce the Pro Bowl has become.

The NFL is like a little kid at a theme park for the first time, eagerly nagging his parents to go to the next ride. You had conference championships last weekend, the 2016 Senior Bowl this weekend and the biggest event in television history the following weekend; why can’t you just enjoy your cotton candy and relax a bit, Roger Goodell?
