4. No Patriots playing
As was mentioned earlier, Brady dropped out of the 2016 Pro Bowl. Following his lead were teammates Rob Gronkowski, Chandler Jones, Jamie Collins, Malcolm Butler, Matthew Slater and Stephen Gostkowski. The Patriots just don’t believe in the Pro Bowl, and neither should you.
Brady isn’t playing because he could care less about the Pro Bowl. He’s also still nursing an ankle injury from Week 17 against the Miami Dolphins, as well as the bumps and bruises he suffered in the AFC Championship Game.
For more on the “Gang of Seven”, read this entertaining piece by Steve Buckley of the Boston Herald. Buckley nails it.
These are seven of the best players in the league, yet the Pro Bowl won’t feature them. How can you call the game one of All-Star nature if the seven best players from one of the league’s best teams all say “thanks but no thanks” to an all-expenses-paid trip to Hawaii?
