5. Travis Kelce will outgain Rob Gronkowski

Assuming Maclin doesn’t play, the Chiefs will employ the services of one of the NFL’s best tight ends. Kelce was Kansas City’s second-leading receiver with 72 receptions for 875 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season.

While Kelce will be the focal point of the Chiefs’ aerial attack, Gronkowski won’t factor into the Patriots’ game plan as much as he normally does. Expect the Chiefs to slap 6-foot-3 cornerback Sean Smith on Gronk; while Smith won’t completely shut down the monstrous tight end, he will hold his own.

Meanwhile, Julian Edelman will be Brady’s favorite target on the day. Brady will also utilize pass catching running back James White early and often. In other words, Gronk won’t have to lug the team’s winning chances on his back in this game, unlike Kelce.

Kelce’s stat line will look something like eight receptions for 92 yards. Gronk will be in the ballpark of 75 yards on five catches.
