8. 2005 – Broncos 27, Patriots 13

Brady was dealt his first career playoff loss in the 2005 postseason when the Patriots got thoroughly shellacked by the Broncos. A 28-3 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Wild Card Round didn’t give the Patriots enough momentum to beat a very good Broncos team.

This was one of the more forgettable of Brady’s playoff performances. He completed just 55.6 percent of his passes, tossing two interceptions and just one touchdown. Although Brady threw for 341 yards (the second-most of his playoff career to that point), the Patriots fell on their face in this game.

Patriots fans: Don’t be afraid of the Chiefs

It took the Patriots until the fourth quarter to finally reach the end zone when Brady hit Givens from four yards out. Champ Bailey’s interception of Brady in the red zone and subsequent return killed the Patriots’ chances of a late rally.

Deion Branch was Brady’s favorite target, snagging eight passes for 153 yards.
