1. Week 4, 2014 – Chiefs 41, Patriots 14

Three years later, the Chiefs returned the favor, blowing out the hapless Patriots by a margin of 27 points. As you may remember, mainstream sports media started calling for Bill Belichick to bench Brady, thinking that the end had come for the Patriots’ starting quarterback.

Brady struggled mightily in this game behind a shaky offensive line, completing 14 of 23 attempts for just 159 yards, a garbage time touchdown and two picks, one of which was a Husain Abdullah pick-six.

Before Brandon LaFell took a slant pass 44 yards for a touchdown late in the third quarter, Brady and the Patriots were staring down a 27-0 score. Brady was actually benched in the final quarter.

This embarrassment on Monday Night Football would serve as a rallying point in the Patriots’ season, eventually leading to a win in Super Bowl XLIX. But it sure was a bad loss at the time.
