Tom Brady: Career history against the Kansas City Chiefs
3. Week 11, 2011 – Patriots 34, Chiefs 3
The Chiefs put points on the scoreboard first in this game in the form of a Ryan Succop field goal, but then it was all Patriots from that point on. Brady went 15 for 27, accumulating 234 yards, two touchdowns and no picks.
The fun got started in the second quarter when Rob Gronkowski lumbered 52 yards into the end zone. Another Gronk spike, this time from 19 yards out, would get the second half started off on the right foot.
Patriots vs. Chiefs: 6 Surprise hero candidates
Brady got help from Julian Edelman when Eddie returned a punt 72 yards for a touchdown, one of the more impressive plays of No. 11’s career. In addition, two interceptions by Kyle Arrington gave Brady and the offense that many more added possessions to take advantage of, which they did.
This commanding victory marked the Patriots’ second consecutive win in an eight-game win streak to close out the 2011 regular season. Although 2011 will be remembered painfully as the second season that ended in a Super Bowl loss to the New York Giants, this win over the Chiefs was a fun game.
