6. Week 3, 2002 – Patriots 41, Chiefs 38 (OT)

In one of the real barnburners of the otherwise sleepy and disappointing 2002 season for the Pats, Brady absolutely tore it up.

Brady set career highs in completions (39), attempts (54) and passing yards (410). It was the first 400-yard game of Brady’s career, interestingly enough. He also threw four touchdowns for just the second time in his career, and also threw an interception.

Brady’s favorite target on the day was future Patriots Hall of Famer Troy Brown. On the day, Brown reeled in 16 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown, one of the more memorable games of Brown’s illustrious career. David Patten also crossed the century mark in yards, catching seven passes for 108 big ones and a touchdown.

In overtime, Brady commandingly drove the Patriots down the field, putting Adam Vinatieri in position for a 35-yard field goal. This game is remembered as one of the best early displays of Brady’s elite quarterback ability.
