5. Jamie Collins’ extra point block vs. Colts

One can’t say enough good things about Collins. The third-year pro was a frontrunner for Defensive Player of the Year before coming down with a serious sickness, which has kept him out of action each of the past two games. Coming in at No. 5 on this list is Collins’ insanely athletic extra-point block in garbage time against the Colts back in Week 6. Here it is:

This play put the stamp on the Patriots’ resounding, Deflategate-weighted victory over the Colts. Collins’ block on the extra point of a pointless touchdown was borderline mocking of the Colts.

Hopefully, Collins will be back at full strength for the Pats’ Monday Night Football matchup with the Bills. Jonathan Freeny has been serviceable filling-in for Collins, but the Pats want (and need) their star linebacker back on the field next to their other star linebacker, Hightower. Those two provide the Pats with the best duo of interior linebackers in the league.
