1. Stephen Gostkowski’s 54-yard game-winner vs. Giants

Taking the cake as the best moment from the Patriots’ opening nine games is Gostkowski’s calm, collected right boot. It was truly a thing of beauty:

The ball hooked pretty hard to the left at the tail end, but it was just enough to give the Pats the victory. Thankfully, the kick coverage unit didn’t fudge it after Gostkowski’s kick, as time hadn’t completely expired.

This was the first of the Patriots’ victories that came down to the wire, so the excitement factor alone made this the most exciting play of the season thus far. It’s good to see the Pats get tested like they did by the Giants, and it’s even better to see them pull out the win.

The 2015 Patriots are proving that they can win games via a variety of methods. It doesn’t hurt that they have one of the best kickers of all-time waiting patiently on the sideline to prove his worth.
