6. Tom Brady’s regular season history against Giants

When these inter-conference games roll around, it’s always fun to take a moment and look back on the history between the teams. In the case of Brady, it’s interesting to remember his past against NFC teams.

Back in 2003, the Patriots beat the Giants 17-6 in a rainy, muddy affair. Brady was unspectacular in the game, connecting on just eight of 21 attempts for 112 yards, good for a  quarterback rating of 56.1.

The next time these teams met was in the 2007 regular season finale, which the Patriots won by a score of 38-35. Brady was his usual 2007 self in that game, tossing for 356 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 32-of-46 passing.

2011 was the most recent regular season matchup between the Patriots and Giants, and it was Eli Manning who prevailed in that game, tossing a last-minute touchdown to Jake Ballard to win 24-20. Brady had an uneven day, throwing for 342 yards and two touchdowns but also two picks.

The Patriots and Giants have had entertaining regular season encounters in the 21st century—it will be interesting to see how this one shakes out.
