5. James White will out-gain Shane Vereen

It’s no secret that Josh McDaniels likes to provide Brady with a consistent receiving threat out of the backfield. Throughout Brady’s career, he’s utilized undersized running backs in the screen and dump-off game. Ball carriers such as J.R. Redmond, Kevin Faulk and Danny Woodhead gained notoriety while catching passes from Brady.

Vereen was that guy last year. Dion Lewis was that guy in the first half of this season. Now, White will be that guy for the rest of the 2015 season (Brandon Bolden may also figure into the role).

White has touched the ball 14 times this season (seven rushes, seven catches), churning out 67 yards on those opportunities. He didn’t dress last week, but all of a sudden, he is at the center of fantasy football conversations because it is a very real possibility that White will be a major factor in this game.

As a result of White capitalizing on his chance and the Patriots’ defense playing lights-out, White will outgain Vereen in total yards from scrimmage in Week 10.
