Patriots vs. Dolphins: 6 Bold Predictions

2. Jonathan Freeny will have a big day against his former team
The casual Patriots fan may not be familiar with Freeny. He signed with the Patriots this offseason after three seasons with the Dolphins, primarily as a special teamer. Tonight, he’s going to have his coming-out party by racking up a bunch of tackles, recording a sack on his former quarterback and forcing a fumble.
Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal penned a nice piece on Freeny earlier this week, detailing Freeny’s new role with his new team. Already, Freeny has eclipsed his previous total of 107 career snaps by logging 109 through the Pats’ six games. It appears that he has edged Jerod Mayo on the depth chart, not an easy feat by any means.
Freeny stood out against the Colts a few weeks back, totaling seven tackles. At 6-foot-2, 242 pounds, Freeny is both stout and athletic, fully capable of growing into a grinder of a linebacker for the Patriots this season.
Know this: by the end of this game, many more Patriots fans will be aware of Freeny and how much he could help out this team.
