While reclining on the couch in Week 7, the Broncos saw their lead in the AFC West narrow a little bit when the Raiders reached 3-3. Of more relevance to the Broncos were the Patriots wining on Sunday to stay atop the AFC.

Going forward, the Broncos must score more points. They face the high-octane Packers on Sunday Night Football in Week 8, and mark these words: the Broncos will drop their first game if the offense struggles to match the success of the defense. Peyton Manning hasn’t led the Broncos to a score line eclipsing 30 points since Week 2, and some of those points came from the opportunistic defense returning turnovers.

That defense, though.
