New uniforms apparently couldn’t eradicate old Browns ways. Instead of keeping pace with the Bengals and Steelers in the AFC North, the Browns fell to 1-3 after an offsides penalty gave Josh Lambo another shot at the game-winning field goal. That chain of events knocked the Browns down several slots in these AFC power rankings, as you would expect.
It’s a small sample size, but Josh McCown looks like he puts the Browns in a better position to win than the inconsistent Johnny Manziel. The journeyman passer registered 356 yards and two touchdowns while completing a smart 78 percent of his passes.
