Tom Brady is a free man: 4 reasons why New England Patriots fans are ecstatic

4. Brady is really good when he plays the Steelers
Now that the book has been closed on preseason play, the attention has turned to the all-important opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Thank the powers above that the Patriots will operate with Brady under center instead of Jimmy Garoppolo.
Nothing against Garoppolo, as did have an impressive preseason overall. Surely, he is the quarterback of the future in New England. But the future is not now.
Look, the Steelers are a very good team. I’m not sure that Garoppolo would have been able to keep-up with one of the most high-powered offenses in the league; Brady, on the other hand, is fully up to the task. Brady owns a 5-2 record against the Steel City’s football team, and his career 109.7 rating in those seven games is his third-best QBR among all the 31 teams he’s faced.
The point being, Brady is historically very effective against these black-and-yellow-clad footballers. And Pats fans should be pumped about that. Expect Brady to run show on Thursday night and improve his record to 6-2 and increase that cumulative Steelers QBR to 110.0.
