New England Patriots. 1. player. 47.
When a team wins the Super Bowl, they must be regarded as the best team in the NFL until real football is played again. I would have said that if the Seahawks had prevailed in February, too, so that’s not my Patriots bias talking.

In the Pats’ second preseason game, Jimmy Garoppolo was very impressive. He completed 28 of 33 passes, tossing a touchdown and an interception (we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on that pick, even though it was a bit of an overthrow). If Jimmy G does end up starting the season against Pittsburgh, he will have a Hall of Fame target at his disposal. Reggie Wayne adds an immediate answer at wide receiver in the wake of the season-ending injuries to Brandon Gibson and Brian Tyms.

You’ll see the Patriots residing atop these power rankings until they lose a regular season game in 2015.
.
