Patriots acquire G Ryan Groy in a trade with Chicago
"The New England Patriots announced today that they have acquired G Ryan Groy in a trade with the Chicago Bears in exchange for 2015 sixth-round draft pick LB Matthew Wells.Groy, 24, originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Chicago Bears on May 11, 2014. The 6-foot-5, 320-pounder, was released by Chicago at the end of training camp and began his rookie season on the Chicago practice squad. He was signed to the Chicago 53-man roster from the practice squad on Nov. 10, 2014, and played in the final four games of the season, including starts at left guard in the final three games of the year."

Smith is likely to miss the season opener and could lose his starting job.The Jets are now better on the field.New York has Ryan Fitzpatrick as their back-up quarterback, and ever since he signed he was the third best quarterback in the AFC East, behind Tom Brady and Ryan Tannehill.
