Over the next few weeks I will be breaking down each position group for the New England Patriots and providing an overall grade for that group. The players will also be placed in the order in which I believe they will end up on the depth chart.

Segment 2: Running Backs

LeGarrette Blount: The top running back for the Patriots is Blount simply off of experience. He is the only back on the team who has amassed over 1000 yards in not only a season but in his career. Blount has had some big games for the Patriots including 148-yards and three touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship. Blount also holds the Patriots career postseason rushing touchdown record. There is still a chance that Blount does not end up the starter in this group but he is certainly the veteran leader.

Jonas Gray: Gray was the Patriots leader in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns in 2014. He had a breakout game against the Indianapolis Colts in week 11 where he picked up 201 rushing yards and four touchdowns. It was an all-time great performance that you would think leads to an even bigger role with the team. Unfortunately, days after his breakout performance, Gray was late to a team meeting and was sent home. The Patriots signed back Blount and Gray carried the ball only 20 times the rest of the season.
