OTA’s are underway for the New England Patriots, and in about two months from now, we will be in the middle of training camp out in Foxboro. Most of the attention will be on Tom Brady and the deflate-gate scandal, but believe it or not, the Patriots are a football team, and their number job is playing football, not talking about deflated footballs.

With this in mind, I wanted to get away from that controversy for a little while, and focus on something that will be very interesting to keep an eye on going forward: the many position battles that will unfold at practice for New England over the next couple of months.

You could make an argument that every position will have a “battle” of some sorts this year, but in an effort to keep this short and concise (and to ensure that I do as little work as possible), I have narrowed it down to the top four positional battles to watch.

Enjoy.
