Round Two
SS. Stanford. Jordan Richards. C+. player. 47. Here’s the thing with this pick: I have no problem with the player selected, but I do have a problem with where he was selected. I think Richards is going to turn into a fine young player in Bill Belichick’s defensive system. He doesn’t wow you with physical traits, but he is smart, he is a great leader, of course, his 3-cone time was phenomenal. But why would you pick him in round two? Richards would likely have been available in rounds four or five, if not even later. This pick doesn’t really come as a surprise, because Belichick is always good for one “WTF?” pick every year, but I still was disappointing to hear Richards’ name called in the second round.
