2015 NFL Draft: New England Patriots Will Act Like Defending Champions

After months of anticipation, the 2015 NFL Draft is finally upon us. Expect the New England Patriots to carry themselves in a winning manner throughout the 2015 NFL Draft by displaying confidence and making swift, calculated decisions.

First and foremost, the 2015 NFL Draft must be viewed as an opportunity for the Patriots to bolster a championship roster.

Sure, the losses suffered during free agency were a bit painful, but the Patriots still boast a strong core of young players. This includes 25-year-old stars Rob Gronkowski, Jamie Collins, Dont’a Hightower, Jabaal Sheard and Super Bowl XLIX hero Malcolm Butler.

Adding a budding prospect at No. 32 overall to complement this ascending group of ring-bearing players will help the Patriots repeat in 2015, and that is reason enough to be excited for Thursday night.

The Patriots hold all the cards in the 2015 NFL Draft. After all, they just finished wiping the confetti off their shoulder pads.

Continuing along this line of thought, it’s better when a team approaches a draft looking to build on a solid roster instead of hoping to re-build a lackluster personnel group, like the teams that will be drafting earliest in the night. Because the Patriots are far from a do-or-die scenario entering Thursday night, they will conduct business with utmost confidence.

This could be seen by a gutsy selection of Sammie Coates to add another layer to the receiving corps, a safe pick on the offensive line to better protect Tom Brady or an addition to the interior defensive line to help fill the void left by Vince Wilfork.

    • You see, the Patriots hold all the cards in the 2015 NFL Draft. After all, they just finished wiping the confetti off their shoulder pads.

    The Patriots have carried their heads high throughout the 2015 offseason, refusing to overpay free agents or pillage many resources in general. They have acted like winners since that glorious night in the Arizona desert, and in the 2015 NFL Draft, they will draft, trade, and scheme like winners.

    This is all to say that Patriots fans should be excited for the 2015 NFL Draft because their team will carry themselves in such a superior manner. However the Pats use the No. 32 overall selection (trading back is a possibility), know that Bill Belichick & Co. are in full control of the situation.
