Week 16 at Jets

At 12 wins, the Patriots not only might have a first round bye locked up at this point, but they might have the one seed wrapped up as well. But for the sake of this article, let’s assume they need to win at least one more game to secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Last year the Jets nearly stole a game from the Pats at MetLife, and this year, it may actually happen. If the Jets can get to Brady, and force some turnovers, they could get lucky and pull a huge win out at the end of the year.

If the Jets have Marcus Mariota as their quarterback, Belichick will force Mariota to read his complex defenses, and try to force him into enough mistakes. This has been Belichick’s strategy for years, and I don’t envision him changing it now. And while it is a very effective strategy, sometimes it can backfire, and Mariota has the kind of talent to do it.

Score: Jets 24-20
